Taylor graduated from Georgia Tech in five years with highest honors with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Public Policy. In addition to lettering four years for the Men’s Varsity Track Team, Taylor worked in policy research as an undergraduate, a graduate student, and a Reason Foundation Fellow. As the Director of Business Development for UDC Sports, Taylor created the Wide Open Cross Country Camp in 2010 and currently serves as the Camp Director. Taylor also works as an associate partner for Sielbei Athletics, a small international road running and marathon team of Kenyan athletes based in Atlanta.
Director of Coaching | Founder: Stan Narewski
With over forty years of coaching experience, Coach Narewski has had over 300 All Americans and 12 Olympians. He is a five time National Coach of the Year award winner with a NCAA National Cross Country Coach of the Year to his credit. Coach Narewski served as the USA Paralympic Head Coach in Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996). Coach Narewski graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Livingston University and a Master of Arts Degree in Education from Auburn University. Coach Stan currently works as the Executive Director of Planned and Major Gifts for the University of West Alabama where he is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame.
Assistant Director of Camps Anna McKelvey Pope
Anna has been involved with Wide Open Camps and Clinics since 2011. Anna started out as a camper, and just couldn’t seem to quit coming back to camp. Since graduating from high school, Anna has served as a counselor, lead counselor, and now is in the role of assistant director. Wide Open Camps holds a special place in Anna’s heart because she loves helping runners at every level improve and learn to enjoy the sport. Anna graduated from Union University in 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education while lettering 3 years for the Women’s Varsity Cross Country Team. Anna loves reading, fishing, and running with her new husband in Jackson, TN.
Assistant Director of Camps: Jeremy Wegener
Jeremy has been involved with Wide Open Camps and Clinics since 2012 as a counselor, lead counselor, and now as an assistant director. Jeremy has shown a passion for helping campers improve both athletically and as leaders on their teams, largely because he has experienced improvements in his own athletic and personal development due to the lessons taught at Wide Open Camps. Jeremy graduated from Georgia Tech in 2015 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering while lettering 3 years for the Men’s Varsity Cross Country and Track Teams, and can currently be found running through the streets of downtown Atlanta.
